Rice is one of the oldest cultivated crops, first mentioned in history as far back as 2800 BC in China. Rice is a fastener crop and forms key piece of the diet for many of the world’s population, particularly those living in Southern and Eastern Asia.

Rice Plantation

The plantation process of rice necessitates a prolonged torrential rain in the early stages which is pursued by an incessant period of scorching dry climatic conditions. It is harvested by hand with delicate care, aged to perfection and then processed.

Rice Processing

The process begins as soon as rice arrives from the fields. Foremost, whole or paddy rice is deliquesced by a rubber roll Sheller to produce brown rice. The outer tough protective coating is removed having no effect on the nutritional composition of the grain within the husk.

The resultant brown rice can be further milled to produce white rice. Milling of brown rice involves removal of the outer bran layers of the grain which are darker in color and are rich in nutrients such as B vitamins.
